Let’s take a moment to get to know Emily Boyd.
Q. For those of us who don’t know you, who is Emily Boyd?
A. I’m a professional soccer player for the Chicago Red Stars, but I’m also a food and fitness enthusiast who loves to help others improve their lifestyles through my Instagram page @eboydsfood.
Q. What does being a Nuzest ambassador mean to you?
A. Being a Nuzest ambassador means I get to share my healthy lifestyle with the world! My goal is to help as many people as I can eat better and make healthier choices, so with the help of Nuzest we are getting the word out there, and we are doing it with such clean products.
Q. How do you make healthy choices and avoid temptations when it comes to your nutrition?
A. To keep myself on track with nutrition, I always plan ahead. I make sure I have snacks if I don't have time for a full meal (protein powder is a lifesaver), and I bring lunch with me to training most of the time. I make sure I know what my next meal is so that I don't end up just grabbing junk food because I'm starving. Preparation is EVERYTHING! And having healthy snack options with you all the time makes it easy to make good choices!
Q. What is your favorite indulgence?
A. I love to indulge on a fun meal with my friends. It's never the same thing, but I love one meal a week to let go and go out to a fun restaurant and enjoy all the cities I am traveling to with my teammates!
Q. What is your favorite healthy snack?
A. One of my favorite healthy snacks is a handful of roasted and lightly salted nuts. They are perfect to get me through a workout or to my next meal.
Q. When not on the field, how do you stay active and fit?
A. When not on the field I am doing a lot of other physical activities to stay physically fit. I run, do yoga, jump rope, hop on the elliptical or just walk around the city.
Q. What is your favorite form of exercise (besides soccer)?
A. I love any form of exercise if it's with my friends! I love getting my sweat on and knowing I am keeping myself healthy by working out, but I enjoy doing it most with my friends. Spin classes, or yoga classes, bodyweight circuits, or a treadmill circuit! I love it all!
Q. What are your favorite songs on your workout playlist these days?
A. My music differs based on the workout that I am doing, but some of my current favorite songs are... Making Luv To the Beat by Watch The Duck, Stir Fry by Migos because it's so upbeat!!! Anywhere, by Rita Ora because it reminds me of my boyfriend, and Please Mr by Shekhinah.
Q. Aside from being a soccer superstar, what do you do for fun?
A. I LOVE to cook for fun. It honestly is so calming and it is so fun making new recipes! And sharing new healthy recipes with my followers is something I thoroughly enjoy via @eboydsfood on Instagram! I also love cooking for friends and family, to show people Healthy = Delicious!!!
Q. What advice do you have for people wanting to kick-start a healthy lifestyle or to pump up their nutrition?
A. START TODAY! When people ask me the first step to becoming more healthy, I recommend giving up a food group that they know is hurting them. For me I ate too many processed carbs, so I gave up every form of processed carbs. And now I eat 0 grains, which has positively affected my body in a large way! Sugar is a great one to give up too, there is so much sugar in all the products that we eat its unbelievable!
