Getting to Know a Star Athlete: Meet Erika Tymrak
Nuzest is pleased to introduce Erika Tymrak as its newest sports influencer. Erika currently plays in the NWSL for FC Kansas City.
Let’s take a moment to get to know Erika Tymrak.
Q. For those of us who don’t know you, who is Erika Tymrak?
A. Soccer player, world traveler, vegan, animal lover and beach girl. Soccer was my first love and is now my full-time job. Aside from that though, I love being outdoors, hiking, exploring, swimming, paddle boarding, and cooking/baking.
Q. What does being a Nuzest ambassador mean to you?
A. It's about representing a healthy lifestyle- Nuzest protein is about a clean as you can get. Clean nutrition is so important to me not only as an athlete but as a person as well.
Q. How do you make healthy choices and avoid temptations when it comes to your nutrition?
A. I am able to maintain a healthy lifestyle because my body and mind feel amazing. I used to have poor eating habits and my body did not feel good. Once I made the decision to change my lifestyle and take on a clean, nutritious diet, it was easy for me to avoid temptations simply because of how great I felt eating clean foods. My energy levels are high, my fitness and endurance increased and I'm all-around a happier person.Q. What is your favorite indulgence?
A. Vegan doughnuts and cupcakes.Q. What is your favorite healthy snack?
A. I love making a Mediterranean platter with vegetables, pita, hummus, and babaganoush.
Q. When not on the field, how do you stay active and fit?
A. I love the water. I grew up by the beach so I was constantly swimming, paddle boarding, snorkeling and running/working out on the beach.
Q. What is your favorite form of exercise (besides soccer)?
Q. What are your favorite songs on your workout playlist these days?
A. I listen to just about everything. Drake and Kendrick Lamar are both on my workout playlists.
Q. Aside from being a soccer superstar, what do you do for fun?
A. I have a beautiful rescue husky named Chai and I am constantly getting into adventures with him. I also enjoy traveling- I’ve backpacked Europe and have been to over 20 countries.
Q. What advice do you have for people wanting to kick-start a healthy lifestyle or to pump up their nutrition?
A. Your body will thank you!!! And everyone has different journeys. It's all about trusting yourself, finding a healthy lifestyle that works for your body, and enjoying the process! I never used to cook, but after I went vegan, I spent so much time experimenting with new foods and trying new recipes in the kitchen!
