Fitness Beyond the Field: Bianca St. Georges
Bianca St. Georges is a professional soccer player, currently playing as Defender for the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women’s Soccer League, as well as a Nuzest ambassador. We recently caught up with Bianca about her health and wellness routine, as well as her goals as a player.
Q. When did you start playing soccer and how did you discover it was your passion?
I started playing soccer at 5 years old because of my older brother. I knew it had become my passion the moment I put the Canadian jersey on at the Youth World Cup in 2014.
Q. What advice would you give to soccer beginners?
Always do your best! Regardless of your circumstances, control what you can and always give 100%.
Q. How does getting back onto the field this season differ from last season?
This year was my first playing in front of fans. It’s amazing the energy we get from people in the stands and it reminds me why I want to keep playing.
Q. With soccer being such a demanding sport, what does your health and wellness routine look like?
My health routine goes beyond what happens on the field. My job is 24/7. Everything we do every day matters. My soccer training is just as important as my recovery, sleep, nutrition, hydration, and physical training. I am always trying to learn how to optimize my wellness by asking older teammates questions or reaching out to sport scientists.
Q. What are some of the goals you have for yourself?
I want to play in the next 2024 Olympics for Canada. Because of my recent injury, I came up short for the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. However, knowing I was so close to making the final roster makes me dream big.
Q. Is there a lesson you have learned from being a soccer player, if so what is it?
Failure is not a sign of weakness, but an opportunity for growth. You have the power to choose how you react to failure.
Q. How do you incorporate Nuzest into your active lifestyle?
I love using Clean Lean Protein by Nuzest for a pre- or post-workout meal. The only time I allow myself to “drink my meal” is if I have Nuzest. It helps to make my meal complete!
Q. Do you have a favorite recipe you like making with Nuzest?
Smoothie: Almond milk, frozen strawberries and mangos, half avocado, frozen cauliflower rice, Smooth Vanilla Clean Lean Protein powder, and peanut butter. Blend and drink. Delicious!
Q. What is your favorite thing about Nuzest products?
I have a sensitive stomach and prefer clean, easily digestible ingredients. I love Nuzest because it always helps me feel better after I use it.
