Getting to Know: Lily Nabet

Lily Nabet is a graduate student attending Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, while also playing in her last year of collegiate soccer. We are thrilled to welcome Lily to our Nuzest family! Recently, we got a chance to speak with her about discovering her passion for soccer, what it means to be a Nuzest ambassador, and of course, what her favorite Clean Lean Protein flavor is. 


Q. How did you discover your passion for soccer? 


My parents always pushed me to try different hobbies when I was little and I had naturally always liked sports. I was only 4 years old when soccer became my favorite thing to do and I have stuck with it ever since.


Q. What advice would you give to aspiring soccer players?


The biggest challenge for me and for other soccer players who compete at a high level is the mental aspect of your sport. While playing collegiate soccer has been one of the greatest accomplishments in my life so far, it comes with a ton of sacrifice and commitment. In high school, I never came off the field. But when I arrived at Duke, I didn't play my first two years because I was surrounded by amazing athletes. Many people quit after being mentally tested like that, but those who stay committed will eventually find success. I became a key aspect for my team my junior year and became one of three captains my senior year.


Q. What does being a Nuzest sports influencer mean to you?


This is my first partnership with a company and I am incredibly grateful to be with one that promotes health and fitness. I have been vegan for almost 2 years now and finding healthy alternatives during my collegiate careers has been tricky. Getting the chance to spread the word on Nuzest’s products is amazing and I am beyond excited!


Q. Why is health and wellness important?


We only get one body for the rest of our lives. What we put into our bodies, how we treat ourselves, and how we choose to live is crucial to our well-being.


Q. How do you make healthy choices and avoid temptations when it comes to your nutrition?


I try to find healthy alternatives that also taste very good. I’ve never had a problem with avoiding temptations because I know how beneficial healthy choices are.


Q. What is your favorite indulgence?


My favorite indulgence is an acai bowl!


Q. What is your favorite healthy snack?


My favorite healthy snacks are dates or avocado toast!


Q. How do you stay active and fit?


I stay on top of my fitness by doing activities with friends or playing on a team.


Q. What is your favorite form of exercise?


Playing soccer.


Q. Aside from being a soccer superstar, what do you do for fun?


I like to go to the beach, I enjoy cooking, and taking my dogs out!


Q. What advice do you have for people wanting to kick-start a healthy lifestyle or to pump up their nutrition?


The more you think about it, the longer it'll take to get started!
